Products

Below are some common questions about our products

How many beers are in a keg?

Each 49.5L keg provides approximately 115 schooners or 175 pots of beer, while each 19L keg yields 45 schooners or 67 pots of beer. That's plenty of rounds to enjoy with your mates!

At what temperature should I keep the keg?

The optimal temperature range is 1-2°C. If the temperature exceeds this range, your beer may become foamier as the warmer temperature releases CO2. Conversely, if the temperature is too cold, you may miss out on experiencing the true flavor and aroma of each pour. If the temperature drops below -2°C, your beer is likely to freeze.

How long does draught beer remain fresh with CO2?

While each beer varies slightly, a general rule of thumb is that the shelf life for a keg of pasteurized beer from a commercial brewery is approximately 3-6 months. Unpasteurised draught beer typically lasts about 6-8 weeks when stored at the correct temperature.

What is the ideal CO2 gas pressure?

When it comes to most beers, the general rule of thumb is 6-9 PSI, although there are various factors to consider. Excessive pressure can lead to overly foamy beer pouring too quickly. To address this issue, adjust your regulator pressure to the appropriate level and use the coupler to release any excess pressure from the keg. Allowing pressure to remain too high for an extended period can result in CO2 being forced into the beer, leading to permanently over-carbonated and excessively foamy beer.

What type of keg coupler does the keg require?

Most Australian kegs typically require either a D-type coupler for the CUB portfolio or an A-type coupler for the Lion portfolio. Additionally, kegs from independent breweries often use an A-type coupler as well.
